Kalbarri Kid

Told through the lens of an ageing and introspective Tony, his family, local power brokers, international visitors and racing professionals, this documentary feature promises a rich insight into a different time, a man’s love affair with the noblest of creatures and how communities and families both thrive and fracture in the unforgiving Western Australian countryside.

Skin & Blister

"Two sisters sit in a car, waiting for the heavy rain outside to clear, and reflect on shared trauma".

Following the dynamic between two sisters, each with drastically different approaches to dealing with grief, this latest short film from writer/director Jake De Agrela explores the relationship we share with our own emotions and how they're dangerous, yet equally inspiring.

Solace

Isolated and facing her own mortality, a woman finds solace in the natural world around her.

Filmed in lockdown in Western Australia during the Covid pandemic, Solace is a meditation on loneliness, and a reminder that connection is never lost.

Written, directed, produced and photographed by Aminah Hughes.

The Last Trip

Three friends are driven into a nightmarish reality as they succumb to the throes of a drug-induced frenzy, which turns the lives of Paul, Sharon, Anthony, and Blake upside down. A tangled web of crime and consequence draws together the lives of the friends and two detectives, intertwining their destinies in the shadow of one of Perth's high-profile murder cases.

Inspired by true events, this short film illuminates the stark reality of how one fateful night on drugs can irreversibly alter the course of a young person's life.

The Grey Line

Taken from her parents during a time when Aboriginal children were removed from their families through Government mandated policy, Helen was raised by a middle-class family in the suburbs of Perth and believed she was their biological daughter until the age of 14.

Despite being raised by a very loving foster family, Helen has never felt like she truly belonged. Not white, not black, she walks a very lonely grey line.

This is her story of hurt, a longing to find her true self and to finally be accepted for who she is.

Fading Numbers

A holocaust survivor shares her story to a journalist, only to discover the connection they both share.
